I've got an old saw that needs sharpening and resetting, but I'm wary of taking it to a big box store. I'm looking for recommendations for local services in the South Sound/Tacoma area that can handle this type of work. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

You should definitely check out Thousand Oaks Tool Works! They do amazing sharpening work for a fair price. I sent my saw there and was really impressed with the results!
If you're interested in learning to sharpen your own saw, you might want to look at Vintage Saws. They provide some great resources to get you started. Tool maintenance is a skill worth having!
Also, try asking around at local building supply or lumber yards. I heard that a sharpening service comes through from Salem, Oregon, picking up and dropping off saws weekly. It's worth a shot!
