Hey everyone! I'm diving back into knife brands because I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed. I started whittling with the Beaver Craft Comfort Bird kit and absolutely loved the knife it came with at first. But then my brother-in-law lent me one of his Mora Erik Frost knives, and wow, what a game changer! The sharpness and thinner blade really suited my needs. However, it has an 8 cm blade, which feels a bit too large for detailed whittling compared to the 5.5 cm blade of my Beaver Craft. I noticed that Mora mainly offers larger knives, likely because my brother-in-law is a furniture maker. So, I'm on the hunt for knife brands that match the sharpness and durability of the Mora Erik Frost but provide smaller blades suitable for whittling. Any suggestions?

You should definitely check out the Mora 120! It’s specifically designed for whittling and has a great balance of size and sharpness. Also, if you're in the market for something even smaller and top-notch, consider the Pfeil Canard. I’ve heard good things about it!
Honestly, Mora knives can be hit or miss for whittling. I wouldn't recommend Beaver Craft too highly; they’re okay but not the best option. A more versatile choice for beginners is the Flexcut KN12—it’s pretty well-rounded and works well for various carving needs. Just make sure it’s available in your area!
