Hey everyone! I'm new here and I'm hoping to get some advice. I have a small area in front of my house, specifically by my bedroom window, where I'd like to plant a small tree. I'm looking for something that won't grow taller than about 6 feet. Any landscaping enthusiasts out there with ideas? Thanks in advance!

Welcome! There are several great small tree options that stay around 6 feet or under without blocking your view:
- **Dwarf Japanese Maple** – These are stunning with beautiful colors, especially the red or laceleaf varieties. They have a lovely airy look.
- **Dwarf Crape Myrtle** – A fantastic choice that adds seasonal color, plus it has interesting bark texture even in winter.
- **Serviceberry ‘Regent’** – Great for keeping small, blooming in spring with berries that birds enjoy.
- **Little Gem Magnolia** – If you're in a warmer area, this evergreen has glossy leaves and beautiful blooms.
- **Topiary Wax Myrtle or Boxwood** – Perfect for a formal look with minimal maintenance.
Also, if space is an issue, consider putting an ornamental tree in a container for more control over size and placement long-term! Let us know your growing zone and preferences for shade or flowers. Happy planting!
Great questions! It’s full sunlight in that area. I don’t want to block all the light in my room, but I’d prefer a bit of coverage for privacy since my bedroom is on the street side.
That's a great area to consider a tree! Where are you located? And what type of sunlight does that spot get?
You might want to think about whether you're okay with blocking some daylight into your bedroom or if you'd prefer to keep the view clear. Since it's the first floor, planting something off to the side could also be an option. What's your main reason for wanting a tree there? For aesthetics, shade, or attracting birds?

Thank you! I just looked up the trees you suggested, and they really are beautiful. I appreciate your help!
