I'm completely new to DIY projects and need some advice on how to securely mount my punching bag on the wall. My ceiling isn't reliable enough for hanging, and I don't have other options at home. I'm not sure where to start or what tools and materials I might need. Any suggestions would be really appreciated!

It’s great that you want to hang your bag, but first, I'd be cautious about depending on the walls. You might want to consider a freestanding punching bag instead since they can be safer and more stable, especially if you're unsure about wall strength. Punching bags can get really heavy when you start using them!
If you're set on mounting it to the wall, one option is to use two wooden 2x4s. You can attach these to the wall studs with long lag screws. Make sure to use guide holes to prevent splitting the wood, then fasten the mounting for the bag onto the 2x4s. This way, it should hold the weight well! Just make sure your bag isn't too heavy for the setup.
