Hey everyone! I'm new to gardening and super excited to start. I've got plenty of time and space, plus a strong motivation to make it work. Recently, I fell in love with the trumpet vine (Campsis Radicans) and I'm eager to add it to my trellis. However, I can only find seeds to order, and I've encountered a lot of conflicting advice on how to plant them. Should I start them indoors or outdoors? What's the best timing? Since I've never grown anything from seeds before, I'd really appreciate any tips you seasoned gardeners have to offer. Thanks a bunch!

Make sure you’re ready for an aggressive plant! Trumpet vines are like morning glories in that once they start, they’re hard to control. I just want to make sure you're aware of what you're getting into.
Trumpet vines are gorgeous, but they're also pretty vigorous and can easily take over your space if you're not careful. I had some years ago, and they quickly got out of control. Just a heads up!
Got it! I’m thinking about putting them in large planters on my deck with trellises. Do you think that would help manage their growth?

Oh wow! So they can really take over everything? I was hoping they’d be manageable in large planters on a deck.
