Hey everyone! I'm in a bit of a pickle here. My kitchen is really spacious but has a unique layout with a cooktop in front of a window and an open counter facing the living room, so there's no dedicated spot for a microwave that doesn't stick out like a sore thumb. We used to have a "space saver" microwave that was mounted under a corner cabinet, which kept it out of sight and left our counters free of clutter. Unfortunately, it just gave up on me, and now I'm on the hunt for a replacement.
I've come across a bunch of small countertop microwaves and over-the-range models with fans, but I'm really looking for that under-cabinet style, which seems hard to find these days. I've also seen some awkward-looking brackets for mounting. Is there still a market for this kind of microwave, or am I just not searching for the right thing? Do people typically install over-the-range microwaves in this kind of setup? I really want a clean installation out of the way.
Thanks for your help!

Have you checked the model number of your old microwave? It might still be available! That could help you find a close replacement. Let me know if you find it!
Hey! So, technically, any over-the-range microwave can be installed under a cabinet. Most of them come in 30-inch sizes, but companies like Sharp have a slimmer 24-inch model that might fit your needs. Just make sure your cabinet is short enough for it to work well without hindering your counter space.
You might want to look into brands like Whirlpool or Samsung. They both have a "low profile" model that’s wide but not too tall, great for under-cabinet installs. If you’re up for a little DIY, consider using some mounting brackets designed for shelves to create a secure spot for your microwave. Just be careful with anything that’s not securely bolted; vibrations can turn into a noisy nuisance!

Good idea! I’ll take it down and check. If they still make it, that would be awesome!
