Looking to Create a Motivational Earnings Display on My Wall

I'm looking for a fun and motivating way to boost my productivity while working from home. I want to set up a large screen on my wall that displays a graph showing how much money I'm earning for each hour I bill. I was thinking of using a big TV and possibly an old Mac Mini to track this with an Excel sheet, but I'm wondering if there's a simpler or cooler way to do this. Any ideas or suggestions?

You could definitely set up a TV and connect it to something like a Mac Mini, Raspberry Pi, or even a Fire Stick. Then use tools like Google Sheets or Grafana to display your earnings in real-time. Automate the updates by linking it with your invoicing or time-tracking software. For some extra flair, consider adding LED strips around the TV that light up when you hit certain earnings goals. You could even throw in sound effects like a *cha-ching* when you reach milestones. It'll make working feel more like a game!

That sounds awesome! Adding lights and sounds would definitely make it more exciting!

Back in the day, I had a contractor who used an early PDA to track his earnings. Whenever he felt demotivated, he'd pull it out to remind himself of his goals. It might sound old school, but it really helped him focus. Sometimes, just keeping your goals visible can push you to work harder. You could adapt that idea with your big screen for more modern motivation!

Haha, that's a neat trick! I guess the key is finding what works for you to keep up that motivation.
