I'm in the market for a new circular saw to replace my old rigid model. I've noticed that the M12 is at the same price point as the Milwaukee, which is $50 less expensive than the rigid. Has anyone had any experience with the M12? Do you think it has enough power for regular use?

I've read that while the M12 exists as a circular saw, it's not really designed for heavy-duty work. People have mixed feelings about it. If you're a carpenter who needs to make numerous cuts or tackle tougher materials, I'd look for something more robust, like an M18 or even a corded model for better performance.
The M12 is really more of a lightweight option, perfect for homeowners or hobbyists. If you're only doing shorter cuts, like around 10 feet or so, it should work fine. But for heavier tasks, it might not hold up as well, especially for constant use.
I've tried the M12 and honestly, I didn't like it much. I switched to a 20v Dewalt saw, and it's made a huge difference. If you're doing serious work, you'd probably be better off looking at that instead of the M12.

Totally agree! I think Milwaukee has some solid tools, but their battery-powered circular saws seem to fall short for what I need. I had issues with their M18 compressor breaking down, too, so I'd be cautious about battery options.
