M18 Fuel Quick Lock String Trimmer: Are the Wind Arrows Incorrect?

Asked By TrimmerTamer99 On

I just picked up a new M18 Fuel Quick Lock string trimmer, and I've noticed something odd. After feeding the string through the head, I find that I have to wind it in the opposite direction of the arrows marked on the head for it to wind correctly. It almost seems like the arrows were mistakenly placed in the wrong direction. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Have you tried winding it the way the arrows suggest? Sometimes it’s easy to overlook the simple solution. Give it a shot and let us know if that works!

I don’t remember having that issue when I used mine, but honestly, the original head wasn’t great, so I eventually switched it out for a Husqvarna T35 universal head after just a few months. That new head has been way better for me!

It can feel tricky, but it only spins smoothly in one direction. If you're pushing it in to get it to spin, then that’s probably backwards. Just remember, that’s how it should be wound on the spool. You might be winding it wrong if it feels off!

Yeah, I was wondering about that. I guess I’ll have to double-check how I've been doing it!
