I just bought a Dewalt 60V electric snowblower, but it came without the safety key or the manual. I found a Dewalt lawnmower key online, but I'm not sure if it'll fit the snowblower. Is there a quick way to start the snowblower temporarily, like using a piece of plastic in the key slot? I've got quite a bit of snow that needs clearing!

If it’s a basic key, you might be able to pull the wires out of the lock and twist them together. It’s typically a straightforward mechanism; those keys just separate contacts that disable the tool. A little workaround could help you for now!
Yeah, definitely go for separating the wires instead. That’s the way to bypass the key!
The key for the lawnmower works for the snowblower too, so you should be good if you get that one!
Awesome, good to know! Thanks!
Have you checked where you bought it from? It’s worth contacting them or Dewalt support for a replacement. I imagine they should assist you with that.
I bought it from Home Depot, but Dewalt support isn’t open on weekends. I've ordered the lawnmower key from Amazon, so hopefully it’ll fit!
Thanks! I might give that a shot since a plastic fork didn’t do the trick. Is accessing the wires difficult?
