Moisture Buildup in My Fridge: What’s Going On?

I live in Southern California where it's usually dry, but I've noticed moisture build-up at the top of my fridge. With the recent increase in humidity, it seems like the dew buildup has become extreme. A repairman recently said it was the seal and cleaned it, but that didn't help at all. Has anyone experienced something similar or have any ideas before the repair guy comes back?

Make sure nothing is blocking the evaporator fan inlet and outlet, as that helps circulate air and removes moisture. Also, ensure your fridge is reaching the correct temperature—ideally below 40 degrees. It helps to not put in hot food or leave the door open for too long. Lastly, check for any pooling water at the bottom; that could indicate a clogged drain or a leak.

It sounds like your door seal might still be letting in humid air, which can definitely cause condensation issues. You might also want to check if the defrost drain is clogged or if your temperature settings are off. All those factors can lead to moisture build-up inside your fridge.

Is this a new problem for you? If so, checking the seals for proper seating is a good idea since they can wear out over time and may need replacing. It's worth investigating!

Thanks for the tip! I’ll definitely check the seals.
