Hey everyone! I'm planning to buy a SawStop cabinet saw before prices potentially rise due to tariffs. However, my workshop isn't ready yet, and I'm facing a big dilemma: I need to get this heavy saw down a set of tricky basement stairs and later back up once my garage is built. I'm leaning towards the cabinet saw but unsure about its disassembly and transportability. How easy is it to take apart for someone like me who isn't super handy? Once disassembled, will I be able to manage getting it out of the basement? I only need to move it once in each direction, so I want to make sure I won't need extra equipment or help! I was going to ask on a different forum, but I can't post there yet, so any advice here would be super helpful!

Honestly, I'd say just buy the saw and keep it in a storage unit until your garage is ready. It's not worth the hassle of trying to carry that beast up and down stairs! Just getting it down there when it’s fresh out of the box sounds tough enough without the added stress of assembling it first.

Exactly! My wife suggested I use the part of our unfinished basement for my workshop, but I was totally turned off by the thought of lugging my tools, especially sheets of plywood, down those stairs!
