Hey everyone! I'm planning to dig up my young Acer tree tonight and move it into a larger pot since I'm relocating. I'm really worried about the process and want to make sure I don't end up killing it. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Definitely try to take as much of the root ball with you as you can. Once it’s in the new pot, make sure to water it a lot. It's all about ensuring the roots stay healthy during the transition. You've got this!
You're looking at a great opportunity to repot! Make sure you get the largest root ball possible, and once it’s in the pot, give it plenty of water - rainwater is preferred if you can! Keeping it shaded and moist will also help. With the right care, it stands a good chance of thriving. Best of luck!
It's important to dig up the tree safely, especially since it's not the ideal season for this. The key is to dig well around the root ball to make sure you get it all. Remember to keep the tree well-watered while it's in the pot and after you plant it again. If possible, keep it in a semi-shaded area, as Acers can get a bit stressed in direct sunlight. You might consider trimming the leaves a bit to reduce stress, but be cautious since they don’t usually respond well to pruning this time of year. Good luck!
