My Ceiling Fan’s Light Fixture Stopped Working After a Bulb Blew – What Now?

I have a ceiling fan with a light fixture, and after one of the lightbulbs blew, none of the lights are working anymore. I'm wondering if there's a way to fix whatever broke inside the fan to get the lights working again. Could it be a blown capacitor or fuse that I can replace, or does this usually mean I'll have to replace the entire fan?

You might want to see if you can get a replacement light kit directly from the manufacturer. It's usually an easier fix than buying a whole new fan. If that doesn't work, you might be looking at replacing the entire thing, but it's worth checking first!

That sounds like a good plan! I always check for replacement parts before going for something more expensive.

There's a chance that the lights are wired in series rather than parallel. This could cause all the lights to go out if one is bad, so it's worth checking the wiring inside the fixture if you're comfortable doing that.

Totally agree! I had a similar setup and once I rewired it to parallel, everything worked perfectly after.
