My Moon Cactus Looks Translucent – Is It Dying?

I just noticed that my moon cactus is looking translucent. I watered it for the first time two weeks ago, bottom watering it for about 20 minutes. Should I add more inorganic material to the soil since it's still a bit moist?

Translucency can often mean your cactus might be rotting. Plus, if the soil is still wet after two weeks, that’s a red flag. These plants thrive in dry conditions, so you'll want to fix that soil situation pronto! I suggest taking it out of the wet soil, trimming any parts that look brown or mushy, and letting it dry out for a few days. Invest in some cactus mix and perlite or pumice to make it more suitable for your little plant buddy.

Got a pic of your cactus? It helps to see what we're dealing with! But yeah, if it's translucent, it might be struggling. Make sure you aren't overwatering. Let the soil dry out completely before the next watering. They don’t like to sit with their roots in water.
