My Wife’s Trees Were Stolen – Need Security Advice

So, here's the deal: Someone just stole my wife's trees right out of their pots. They were planted near an alley that doesn't get much traffic, so maybe the thief thought they were trash and just took them since they were too heavy to carry easily. But honestly, seeing my wife so upset makes me furious. We're not really experienced with home security, and I want to know what steps we should take to prevent this kind of thing from happening again. Would air tags be a good idea, or are there other options that won't break the bank?

Honestly, report it to the police. This was definitely theft! Trees can be pretty costly, and if they find the thief, you might have a case. Also, you could post about it online—maybe someone will spot the trees! And yeah, sorry you have to deal with this. It really sucks.

Yeah, we know theft can happen anywhere. Just make sure you're on record with the police, in case something similar happens again!

I’ve heard about motion-activated sprinklers that are pretty funny! They could startle the thief and stop them in their tracks. Maybe even planting some prickly plants could be a clever deterrent. But seriously, steer clear of letting this get to you too much. It’s frustrating, but don’t let it change your life.

I’d recommend putting up a no trespassing sign and installing security cameras along with motion-activated lights. Those can really help deter thieves. It’s concerning that they only took the trees, though! That seems suspicious. Glad to hear you’re considering motion lights this weekend!
