Need Advice on Caulking My Shower Gap

I replaced the moldy caulking in my shower, but now I've found a 3/4" gap between the tiled surround and the bottom of the shower. The tub surround is quite thick, about the thickness of two tiles. How can I properly caulk this gap to avoid any issues?

To handle that gap, start by using a **foam backer rod** to fill most of it in. After that, apply **100% silicone bathroom caulk** on top. This setup helps prevent cracking and keeps mold at bay. Just remember to smooth it out and let it cure for a full 24 hours before you hop in the shower.

You might want to double-check the depth at the top and bottom of your gap. If they’re not even, the foam backer rod could stick out past the tiles, which won't look great. In that case, you could try a thinner layer of caulk or consider a product designed specifically for uneven gaps.
