Need Advice on Rehanging a Broken Shutter

Hey everyone! My wife and I are renting a house, and during a recent storm, a shutter blew off and one corner broke. Now, it looks pretty bad with the missing shutter, especially in our nice neighborhood. Our property manager promised to send someone to fix it, but that hasn't happened yet.

Here's what we're dealing with: We're not very handy at all, and the shutter has 5 screws/fasteners—one in the middle and one in each corner. Unfortunately, one corner is broken and can't be refastened. Plus, there's a broken screw lodged in one of the holes in the brick. We're curious about how to get that out and what tools we might need to fix the whole thing. I've included some photos for reference!

I totally get wanting to fix up your rental! But be cautious with that broken screw; trying to yank it out could damage the brick, and that might not end well with your property manager. It might be smart to keep bugging them to send someone over instead of risking a DIY fix. They might have a professional who can handle it better!

That makes sense! I guess it’s better to let the property manager take care of it, especially if there's a chance of messing up the brick.

Yeah, it’s kinda frustrating though. I would keep hounding them, especially since you’ve already waited a while!
