Need Garage Renovation Advice: Epoxy Flooring and Foundation Help?

Hey everyone! My wife and I just bought our first house, and we made a fun deal: she gets to decorate the inside as she pleases, while I get to take charge of the garage, yard, and pool (and yes, it's all in good humor; we share everything). So I'm planning to work on the garage since I love working on cars, and I'm thinking about resealing the floor. However, there's this annoying concrete wall along the edges as part of the foundation. Should I epoxy that too, or cover it with trim or wood? Looking for some expert advice and tips!

You might want to check out some YouTube channels focused on garage setups. Before putting too much into the floor, think about investing in some tool cabinets, shelves, and a workbench. Get your storage sorted first, then focus on the finishing touches like paint and flooring. It'll make a big difference in how you use your space!

If you're just focusing on the floor, feel free to use leftover epoxy for the sides of the foundation if you want, but it’s not necessary. Congratulations on your new home!

Thanks! How should I apply it on the foundation sides? Just the same as the floor, or should I use a brush? I'm trying to make the whole garage look sharp with paint, epoxy, and a new tool chest.

Hey, have you ever worked on cars on an epoxy floor? If you tend to spill fluids, just a heads up: I did a bay in my shop as a kind of "showroom" and when fluids hit that stuff, it's like ice! Plus, those flakes can really make small parts disappear in an instant. Not a fan of epoxy for that reason!

I haven't tried it, but wow, I didn't even think about the flakes hiding things. Do you have any alternatives to epoxy that could make the floor look nicer while being durable?

It’d help if you could post pictures of your garage! That way, folks can give you more tailored advice.

I tried that, but it seems like the community doesn't allow attachments.
