Hey everyone! I'm trying to become a better gardener and I have a few burning questions that I hope you can help me with. I've recently discovered I have bindweed in my garden. Is it alright if I just pull it whenever I see it? I was thinking of putting up some bamboo stakes to help manage any pieces I might miss. Also, I have groundelder invading my lawn along with the bindweed. What's the best way to remove it without wrecking my lawn? I really want to dig it up properly.
On a brighter note, my lovely neighbor gifted me two tomato plants, and I'm worried about overwatering them—any tips? Lastly, I'd love advice on a good free app for identifying plants, plus, when's the best time to trim my red robin bush? It's green and red all year round but has started getting really woody inside. Thanks in advance for all your help!

For bindweed, just keep pulling it up as you see it, or if you want, dig it out to get to the roots, but that can be a hassle. I wouldn't worry too much about putting stakes in; just keep an eye on it. As for the groundelder, mowing frequently should help control it, and it won’t take over your lawn if you keep on top of it!
Don't stress too much about overwatering those tomato plants—just avoid having them sit in cold, wet soil as that's what can hurt them. They actually need quite a bit of water when they're growing well in the sun! Oh, and for plant ID, have you tried PlantNet? It’s pretty reliable!
If you're curious about when to cut back that red robin, just make sure to trim it after it’s done flowering. It should help keep the bush healthy! Oh, and definitely keep pulling up that bindweed to keep it at bay, and don’t let it flower. Otherwise, you’ll have a lot more to deal with!
Exactly! And for the groundelder, just stay vigilant with mowing and you should be fine!

I've also had good luck with PlantNet! It's helped me identify some tricky plants.
