Need Help Connecting Refrigerator Water Line to Valve – Frustrated!

Hey everyone! I'm a new homeowner and I'm trying to connect the water valve behind my fridge to the hose for the filtered water. I thought this would be an easy fix at Home Depot, but after trying about 4 or 5 different fitting sizes, nothing seems to fit. The closest one I found is 3/8", but it's still just slightly off. If anyone has advice or guidance on how to make this connection work, I would really appreciate it!

It sounds like you might be dealing with a tubing flare fitting, which has different threads than the standard pipe fittings you're probably trying. Make sure to check the specs on your connections before buying more fittings.

I checked out the photos you shared and it looks like you might not be using the right type of compression adapter. The 3/8” fitting you're trying is usually the right size, but double-check if you're dealing with FIP (female iron pipe) threads versus NPT (national pipe thread) because that can really mess with the fitting compatibility.
