Need Help Deciding on the Best Way to Get Paver Base

Hey everyone! I'm in a bit of a pickle trying to figure out how to get some paver base for my project. I need less than 40 bags of it, but the catch is that we don't have a truck. We've got SUVs, and our driveway is on a steep bridge which makes things tricky. Since the bridge has been damaged before, I'm worried about a pile of gravel just sitting there without a place to dump it.

Here are my options:
1. Buy bags of gravel, maybe 10 at a time from Home Depot, as I drive by it daily. It feels a bit crazy to do this, but it might be the easiest way.
2. Rent a U-Haul and bulk buy the gravel, but that feels excessive, and the gravel could end up sitting around for a while since we're busy on weekends.

What do you think? Should I just go for the 40 bags from Home Depot, or is there a better option I'm overlooking?

Could you go for home delivery? It’s usually around $70 here, and if your Home Depot isn’t too far, it might save you some hassle.

I actually pass a Home Depot on my way home, so it's convenient to just stop and grab the bags.

What kind of project are you working on? If it’s something like a patio, you might want to consider paver panels to cut down on the gravel needed. Also, hiring some day laborers to help with a U-Haul could be a viable option if you can’t find a truck to use.

I did look at those, but my concern is the poor drainage in that area. I thought the gravel would improve it.

Have you thought about using gator base panels? This could be a perfect solution for your situation since it could reduce the need for so much gravel. I've had good luck with them!

I hadn't seen those! I was leaning towards gravel because the soil here has terrible drainage, and I thought digging it out would help.
