I'm planning to build a 92-inch long sitting bench out of 5/4 white oak. I'm looking for plans or suggestions that provide a super strong base to support such a long span. Originally, I thought about making a laminated pine base and attaching white oak to cover it, but I'd prefer to keep the weight down. Any ideas? Thanks!

You could try looking up plans on Ana White's website; she has some great projects there. Just be cautious, as some designs might have issues—definitely get feedback from others if you find one you really like.
Have you considered a classic 5-board bench design? It's pretty straightforward to assemble, and I recently completed one that turned out great. Since you're going for almost 8 feet, adding some reinforcement would be wise. I've seen designs that incorporate a third leg in the middle to help with the span.
