Hey fellow DIY enthusiasts! I'm working on a kayak rack at my cottage, and while I can manage the basics, I need to drill some holes at precise angles for bolts to join wooden beams. I think a drill press would be ideal, but I'm not able to find one for rent, and none of my friends own one. Since I have a cordless drill, could I attach some sort of mount to get similar results? If that's not feasible, I'm considering buying a used drill press—what should I be wary of when shopping for one? Appreciate any guidance you can offer!

You can definitely get away with using your cordless drill for this! Just make sure to drill as straight as possible. If your drill has a built-in level, that can help, but even without it, you should be fine as long as you take your time. It doesn't have to be perfect; just aim for good enough!

That’s reassuring! I might just try that and see how it goes.
