I'm trying to install a security camera above my garage to get a clear view of my driveway. I started drilling from inside the concrete block of my garage and made it about 8 inches in, but then it just won't go any deeper. I don't think I'm hitting rebar, so I'm wondering if I should switch to a different drill bit or if anyone knows what might be causing the issue. Any ideas? Thanks!

How thick is your wall and what type of drill are you using? If it's a newer home, the concrete might be thicker than you expect. A masonry bit is usually good, but make sure your drill is powerful enough for the job. Sometimes a rotary hammer drill can make a difference with tougher materials.
It sounds like you might be hitting the steel lintel or header that’s above your garage door. It's really important not to drill through that since it supports the structure above. You might want to seal that hole and consider a different position to drill your hole higher up instead.
