Hey everyone! I'm considering purchasing either a Stanley No. 5 or No. 4 hand plane from the early 1900s. However, I've noticed that many of these planes come with either broken, highly corroded blades or no blades at all. Does anyone know of a dependable and safe source to get replacement blades for these classic planes?

I recently picked up a Veritas blade and chip breaker designed for Stanley-style planes. It's a fantastic combo, though a bit pricier at around $100. Worth the investment if you're serious about restoring that plane!
