Need Help! How to Remove Old Dishwasher After New Flooring Installation?

Hey everyone, I could really use some advice on a bit of a dilemma I'm facing with my dishwasher. After buying our house, we had laminate flooring installed in the kitchen, but we didn't realize how much the new flooring would impact the height of our appliances. Now we're trying to replace our old dishwasher, but it won't budge! The top of the dishwasher is now hitting the underside of the countertop, and there's just not enough clearance to slide it out. I've lowered the legs as much as I can, but it still feels stuck. Has anyone here dealt with something similar? I'd love to hear any tips or tricks for safely removing the dishwasher without scratching my new floor or damaging the countertop! Thanks a lot!

You might also consider trimming the laminate flooring around the dishwasher. A circular saw might do the trick, and you can adjust the depth to be cautious. Then, after getting the new unit in, you can install some nice trim to cover any gaps.

Alternatively, you could stick some wedges under the dishwasher to create some extra space. Just make sure to check the specs of the new dishwasher before purchasing to ensure it will fit properly!

One option could be to cut off the front feet of the dishwasher using a reciprocating saw or a multitool. This might give you just enough clearance to pull it out. Just be aware that installing a new one could still pose a challenge, especially with the new height of the flooring, so plan accordingly.

If you're really struggling with clearance, you could try tilting the dishwasher slightly forward. Sometimes that gives just enough room to get the top part past the counter edge. But definitely measure everything first before choosing your new dishwasher.
