Need Help Identifying and Fixing Grout Buildup in My Shower

I renovated my shower back in 2021, and I've noticed some weird buildup in the grout that seems to be getting worse over time. As a first-time home buyer, I'm really concerned about what this could mean and how I can fix it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like you might be dealing with mold or fungus, which can occur if there’s moisture trapped behind the tiles. Make sure to check for any leaks or cracks that could be causing water to accumulate. You might want to consider getting a professional to check it out if you're unsure!

I actually hired a contractor for the tile work, so I’m a bit worried about what they might have missed.

Have you tried giving your shower a good scrub? Sometimes regular cleaning can help prevent buildup. I clean mine every couple of days too, and it really makes a difference!

Yes, I do clean it every two days! Thanks for the suggestion.
