Hey everyone! I could really use some help here. I recently tried to replace the aluminum dryer vent hose since it got crushed when we moved the dryer back against the wall. I followed a YouTube tutorial to connect the new hose to the dryer and the wall, but there's a catch: in all these videos, they show a plastic end sticking out of the wall to attach the hose to, and I don't see anything like that at all. In fact, I can't find any vent exit! I even pulled the old hose out of the wall, but it unraveled, and now I'm stressing that I might have made things worse. What should I do next?

Posting a photo could help others assist you better! If people can see what you're dealing with, they might spot something you missed, or recognize an easier way to tackle it.
Have you checked if there's a basement under your laundry area? Sometimes the vent leads down there. You might also want to take a look outside to see if you can find the dryer vent exit. If you do find it out there, you can just attach the new hose to that. Just make sure it’s clear of obstructions!

If you find the vent outside, just check that it’s not blocked by debris. You can clean it out and then connect your new hose. It's usually pretty straightforward!
