Need Help on Anchoring My DIY Pergola

I'm planning to build an 11'x10' pergola for my back patio, which is made of pavers. It's going to feature a lattice design, and I want to make sure it's secured well. I'm torn between removing some pavers to pour concrete footings in sonotubes or exploring other anchoring methods.

I've come across ideas where people use concrete-filled planters or buckets for stability, but I'm a bit skeptical about how safe that is, especially since many of those examples involve larger structures or those with solid roofs. I've read that sonotubes might be a solid choice for footings, but I'm feeling a bit intimidated by the whole process. I'm looking for advice or alternative suggestions from anyone who's tackled a similar project. Thanks a bunch!

Using sonotubes is actually pretty simple! Just dig your holes, mix up some concrete in a wheelbarrow, and fill them in. I did this for my own pergola, and it worked out great. You can find the post bases that might help with this process, too!

Did you use rebar in your sonotubes for added support?
