Need Help Removing a Bathroom Faucet Cartridge!

Hey everyone! I've encountered a bit of a puzzle with this bathroom sink faucet I've never seen before. I managed to take the handle off and see the cartridge, but I'm stuck when it comes to removing the handle cap to get to the cartridge. I've tried twisting, pulling, you name it—nothing seems to work! I'm really hoping I don't need to take off the mirror plate just to access it. I noticed that the cartridge inside is from Moen, but when I reached out to them, they said this faucet isn't one of their models and couldn't assist. Any advice from those who have dealt with this kind of faucet would be greatly appreciated! Check out the photos here: https://imgur.com/a/geEYVXq

You could also look into getting a shower socket tool; it might make your life a lot easier when dealing with those tricky parts.

Have you tried using pointy pliers to turn that brown scalloped piece? I dealt with something similar before, and I remember turning that piece to access the cartridge. Might be worth a shot!

That’s a great idea. I never thought of it that way. I just assumed I had to remove the cap to get to the cartridge. I’ll definitely give it a try!

It sounds like you might need to remove that cover plate after all. I had a similar issue with a faucet like yours, and after removing the plate, everything came apart easily. Here’s a link that might help you figure out the assembly: https://ibb.co/ZpJDzDns

Thanks for sending this! One side of the wall mount has some peeling glue, so we’re considering just taking it off and putting it back together nicely after.
