I recently had a new shed built, and we initially chose a barn red color for it. However, after painting one wall, we realized we don't like it at all. Now, I'm considering switching to a sage green, darker evergreen, or perhaps a dark blue. I'm really concerned about how to ensure that the wall we painted doesn't end up looking different from the rest. My husband thinks we should just pick a different shade of red or brown instead. I'm new to painting and have a few questions: 1) Do I really need to sand down the red before repainting, or is there a way to avoid that? 2) Can I paint over with a green or blue, or should I stick with a darker red/brown? 3) Is it better to go with darker colors for the best results, or can I try a lighter color? Thanks for any advice!

I suggest just getting a good primer and painting the entire shed with it first. After that, you can choose any color you want without worrying about it matching!
Thanks! Quick question though - the shed builders said the tan color they used is basically a primer. Should we apply another primer coat for better color consistency?
