I'm planning to build a desk that will sit on top of two filing cabinets with a 3/4" Oak plywood top. The distance between the cabinets is about 60". I'm thinking about adding a support along the back edge that will be attached to the wall. Is this enough to keep the plywood from sagging, or do I need to add more support? I'm only putting my monitors and some light items in the middle, and the desktop will rest over the filing cabinets.

That should work pretty well! Just to be extra safe, consider adding an oak lip along the front edge. Making it about 1-1/2” tall will give you added support and it’ll look great too!
Thanks for the tip! So if I use a 1x2 oak board on the front edge and attach it flush with the top, I should just glue and nail it in place?
