Need Help with DIY Air Switch Installation for Garbage Disposal

I recently had to part ways with my general contractor, and now I'm left with some unfinished work. I'm looking to install an air switch for my garbage disposal instead of wiring a traditional switch. I believe I need to take the existing wires to the switch box from a dedicated breaker and then route them to the outlet. Before I dive into this, I want to make sure I'm not overlooking anything important. I have an electrician coming next week for some more complex tasks, but I want to save on costs by handling this myself. Any tips or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Installing an air switch is a good choice for a cleaner look! Just ensure the air switch you pick can handle the power for your garbage disposal. It's super simple if you follow the instructions that come with it. One last tip: consider using a switch with a longer air tube if your distance is more than a few feet—just to avoid any potential issues with the air pressure.

Thanks for the heads-up! I’ll definitely check the specifications before purchasing.

You’re on the right track, but you should double-check a couple of things before starting. Make sure the power is turned off at the breaker before handling any wires. Once you've run the wires to where the air switch will be installed, you'll just need to connect them correctly to the air switch and the outlet. Also, if the air switch requires a power source, ensure you have a clear plan for that.

And don’t forget to secure everything with proper connectors and cover the outlet. Safety first!
