Need Help with Installing Window Screens – What Am I Doing Wrong?

Hey everyone! I'm feeling a bit lost trying to install window screens in my new double hung windows. I bought a kit from Home Depot thinking it would be a simple cut-and-snap kind of job, but it's been a real challenge. Every guide I find online just doesn't seem to match my situation. My windows have a specific track for the screens with a lip on the outside and a larger one on the inside, which makes installation from the inside really difficult. I can't find any photos of windows like mine, so it's hard to explain. If anyone has experience with something similar, I'd really appreciate your advice! Oh, and I just discovered Imgur, so I've linked some photos here: https://imgur.com/a/3akZQhE.

Are you trying to replace the old screens or just the material? If you’re putting in new frames along with the screens, that can definitely complicate things. It sounds like you might need to approach it from the outside since the lips you mentioned could restrict access from the inside. Maybe check if the kit you bought has any specific guides for your window style. I know that some kits can be tricky depending on the design. Good luck!

I totally agree, replacing the whole frame adds another layer of difficulty. If you can, try to install the frames from outside. It may seem awkward at first, but it could make things easier!
