I've just started the Weekend Woodworker course and I'm almost done with my BMW project! However, I've hit a snag with my Chicago Electric 10" miter saw. The problem is that the fence doesn't have any holes for attaching an extended fence or a stop block. This has me feeling a bit discouraged because my cuts are inconsistent and it's affecting the final product of my frame. I'm looking for any tips or workarounds to achieve better precision without the extended fence. Any solutions out there?

You could temporarily clamp an extended wood piece to your fence to get a solid line. If you have a drill, you could make holes through both the wood and the fence, then use flat-head bolts to secure the extension. This way, it’s removable but gives you a longer support for accurate cuts!
You might want to try using a C-clamp to attach a block of wood to the fence as a makeshift stop block. It could help you get more consistent cuts without drilling into your saw. Just keep in mind that the limit is whatever distance you can clamp it within the standard fence length!
If you need several pieces to be the same length, consider cutting them a bit longer than needed and then trimming them down all at once. It'll help maintain uniformity in your measurements and make the process smoother!
I need them all to be exactly the same though — I'm dealing with 8 legs and a few stretchers. Any other ideas?

That's a good point! But wouldn't that limit my usable length? If I put it at the end, it wouldn't work for shorter cuts.
