Hey folks,
I've been having some trouble with my Flexvolt 6.0Ah battery. Despite all my chargers indicating that it's fully charged, the onboard monitor is only showing one out of three charge bars. I used a multimeter to check the output, and it's reading 15.5 volts when I plug it into my tool. I even opened up the battery casing to see the individual cells and measured the voltage there. They all seem to be around 3.0 to 3.1 volts without disconnecting anything.
Shouldn't the individual cells show higher voltage readings when fully charged? Is there something else going on with the battery? I noticed there are three banks of five cells, and if each cell is at 3.0 volts, that totals to 15 volts approximately. This battery is just a year old, but Dewalt Australia won't help since I don't have a receipt from when I bought it at a garage sale.
Any advice or insights would be really appreciated!

From what I know, those lithium-ion cells should typically be at 4.2 volts when fully charged. Since you're getting around 3.0 volts per cell, it suggests they aren't fully charged, indicating a possible issue with charging. It might not mean a dead cell yet but could point to a charging problem or internal malfunction. You might want to double-check the charger itself just in case, or consider testing the battery connections to ensure they are solid and clean.

Got it! So it sounds like the battery might just be struggling to charge. I'll take a look at the charger as well, thanks for the heads up!
