Hey everyone! I have an Outequip A/C powered by a Renogy Rover 40A MPPT controller. I want to wire the A/C through this controller, but I've been told I might need a relay to prevent damaging the controller. Can anyone provide some guidance on how I can set this up? I have access to heavy-duty 120A relays that have two big and two small posts. I'm just unsure of how to wire everything so it works correctly.

First off, just a heads up, the Renogy controller outputs DC, while your A/C unit needs AC power. You’ll need an inverter for this setup. Plus, don’t forget that you’ll require a battery to support the A/C’s high current draw. Just so you know, a 40A controller likely won’t suffice if your A/C pulls over 50A!

Actually, the A/C unit is a DC model, so you might be in a better position than you think!
