Need Ideas to Add Height to One Shoe Legally and Safely

My wife suggested adding an inch to the bottom of one shoe since one of my legs is longer than the other. She mentioned using wood and nailing it to the shoe, but I'm not sure that's the best route. A cobbler quoted $130 for the repair on a $20 shoe, which seems a bit steep. I'm looking for practical and safe suggestions for this adjustment.

I totally get the struggle. I wear half-inch lifts in one shoe, and I'd highly recommend just going to a cobbler. It might feel like a lot now, but your back will really thank you in the long run.

Seriously consider visiting a podiatrist instead of trying to DIY it. They can create a proper spacer that would be way better for your posture and comfort. Just to echo my fellow commenters, don’t try to fix it yourself unless you're really sure of what you're doing!

Exactly! I've been getting custom insoles from my podiatrist for foot issues and it changed everything for me.

Right? Avoid those drastic changes in leg length without professional guidance. It can really throw your gait off.

What about looking into something like EVENup? They're meant for when you're using a walking boot but can give you that height you need without the DIY drama. They have various height options available for a reasonable price! But still, visiting a cobbler is a solid choice as well.
