Need Recommendations for Affordable Kitchen Appliances on a Budget

I'm in the middle of a kitchen remodel on a tight budget after a storm, funded by an insurance settlement. With rising costs and tariffs, I'm feeling anxious about making the right choices. I need a slide-in range, counter-depth refrigerator, dishwasher, and an over-the-range microwave, all for $6K or less. I've looked at some scratch-and-dent outlets, but some prices were even higher than at big box retailers. I'm planning to sell my home in the next 2-4 years—it's located in a starter home neighborhood where houses sell between $290K and $325K. I'm considering appliances that are a step above contractor-grade. Should I stick with stainless steel? Is EnergyStar worth it for resale? Since we have gas, is induction more popular these days? And do big box stores often have sales on appliances? Any insights would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for reading!

I recently went with Bosch for our fridge and dishwasher, and I think those are solid choices—especially because water issues can be a concern. I chose LG for my microwave and oven, but honestly, the microwave has been a disappointment. I’d say steer clear of Samsung appliances. Overall, we spent about $10K for all new stuff from Lowe's, but I think you can definitely stick within your $6K budget for what you're looking for.

Thanks for the tip! I’m leaning towards avoiding water features in the fridge anyway, just going to use a reverse osmosis system instead. How do you feel about your washer and dryer?
