Need Suggestions for Replacing a Bathroom Door

I'm looking to replace the barn door on our guest bathroom, which gets used by both guests and us throughout the day. The current barn door isn't very private, making it a bit awkward for those inside. I've shared some photos of the layout, and I would love some suggestions on what kind of door would work better. A few things I'm unsure about include: What type of door would be best? A regular hinged door, a pocket door, or something else? Should the door swing inward or outward? And which side should the hinges be on—left or right? Any tips, ideas, or personal stories about what you've done would be super helpful. Thanks!

We did a similar thing in our master bath and installed a pocket door, and it has worked wonderfully for us!

Thanks for sharing! Does it provide adequate soundproofing compared to a regular door?

Pocket doors are fantastic since they slide into the wall and save space, plus they can add a modern touch. Just make sure to build a sturdy wall since a lot of pocket doors tend to be stuck in flimsy construction, which can be frustrating.

Thanks for the reply! How does the soundproofing compare between pocket doors and traditional doors?
