I'm trying to set up a Regalo baby gate at the top of my stairs, but I'm running into some problems. The gate came with plastic spacers for mounting, but the post doesn't sit flat on the floor due to the bottom moulding getting in the way. I'm hoping to find a solution that doesn't involve cutting or removing the baseboard. I'd really appreciate any advice!

You might want to try using some flat wooden spacers where the gate attaches to the wall. This could help offset the gate inward enough so that it makes contact with the floor without the baseboard being an issue.

That sounds promising! I'm looking at what kind of spacer to get. The instructions mention drilling 3" screws into the studs with those spacers, but if I opt for a 1" shim, do you think the 3" screws would still reach?
