Hi everyone! I have a round canvas from a local art store, and I'm looking to cut its frame into segments. I only need to make 2 or 3 cuts, but I don't have many tools to work with. I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions on how I can either do it myself without buying any equipment or if there are places where I can get it done? I just want to avoid jagged edges! Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

You might be surprised to find out that many local libraries offer tools for loan. Just ask at your library - you usually need to sign a waiver and may have to leave a small deposit. If your library doesn't have tools, call a few nearby ones. Also, if you're feeling adventurous, head to the trim aisle at Home Depot; they often have a saw horse and hand saw that you can use right there! Just remember to secure your MDF to a stable surface before you start cutting. Good luck!
You can also consider using nails to break apart the MDF if you're really in a pinch! If you're open to it, you could look for a cheap jigsaw on local Marketplace listings. Just remember, it’s important to be cautious with tools if you're not familiar with them. If storage is an issue right now, maybe wait until you have more space before investing in tools! Good luck with your project!
I totally get that! It feels like all I find on Marketplace are huge power tools. I’m kind of dreaming of a day when I can have my own proper crafting setup!
And don’t forget to check for any Maker Spaces in your community! They often have tools for members and might even have people willing to help you out. They could be attached to libraries or schools, or even independent locations. Just be friendly, and you might find someone who can help with your cutting! It's usually pretty casual.
