I'm thinking about getting a Musa Basjoo plant, but I have limited space and am considering keeping it in a pot. I would love to hear your recommendations for a good supplier and whether you think these plants can thrive in a pot. Should I wait until Spring to get one? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I've had mine in a 2-liter pot and it's thriving! These plants are quite forgiving when it comes to pots. Just keep in mind, they drink a lot of water and prefer being in a sheltered spot. Oh, and don’t forget to trim off any old leaves with a sharp tool to help it stay healthy.
Can you leave them outside in a pot during the winter? I love Musa Basjoo, but it's tough here in the frost. A pot would be easier to protect.
If you're looking for a supplier, check out Big Plant Nursery. They have a good selection of Musa Basjoo: https://www.bigplantnursery.co.uk/shop/plants/bananas-and-gingers/musa-basjoo/.
I keep my Musa in large barrel pots so it can sprout new shoots. This year, I have one with five baby shoots! But watch out for the cold; I lost a few to frozen roots in pots, so I now store them in an unheated shed wrapped with fleece for the winter. If I were you, I’d wait until Spring to buy — that way you can skip the winter worries.

2-liter pot? Are you sure it’s not a 20-liter? That seems a bit small for them!
