Need to get rid of home improvement supplies – any suggestions?

I've got a ton of home improvement supplies taking up space and I'm really not sure what to do with them. I've got pallets full of Signature hardware plumbing supplies including valves, shower fixtures, a sink, and some more pricey items like backlit mirrors. Plus, there's a whole bunch of smaller items like drawer knobs and floor vents, with some retailing between $15 to $60+. I've been trying to sell them on eBay for the last six months, but it's been slow going. I'm estimating that I have around $2,000 worth of stuff, and I'm ready to sell it for about 50% of retail just to clear things out. I've already tried Facebook Marketplace and even contacted some plumbers. I'm thinking of reaching out to general contractors or something, but I'm open to ideas. How can I get rid of this stuff quickly?

If you're just looking to unload everything quickly, consider doing a garage sale or reaching out to local contractors to see if they might buy some of your stuff in bulk. Again, donating is solid if you're really just looking to get rid of it, but there’s often a market for discounted supplies if you can sell them as a lot!

Definitely check out Habitat for Humanity, but if you're still keen on selling, try listing everything on Facebook Marketplace as a bulk lot. You might have better luck if you advertise it as 'must take all' and encourage offers. Just be ready to negotiate!

One option you might consider is donating your items to Habitat for Humanity's ReStores. They often accept plumbing supplies and fixtures, and it's a great way to help out the community. Plus, you might get a tax deduction for your donations while clearing up that space!

That's a smart move! You’ll not only feel good about the donation, but it could help with next tax season, too. Plus, it really clears out your place!
