New Driveway Ruined by Bird Prints – What Can We Do?

We just moved into a new house from David Weekly and noticed that our driveway started breaking apart just three months in. There were over 20 holes, with the largest being over 3 inches deep! We managed to get the driveway replaced after a lot of back and forth on warranty issues. However, after the replacement, a bird walked across the freshly poured concrete while it was still wet, leaving prints all over it. I called them immediately, but they said there's nothing they can do because it's 'just cosmetic'. I'm wondering if there's anything we can do to convince the builders to fix this, or if it's worth the headache. Will these prints affect the driveway's longevity, especially with those existing holes allowing water to enter?

If the prints really bother you, one option could be to fill them in with some colored epoxy. It would seal the prints and make them more noticeable. And hey, you might as well appreciate the bird for leaving a unique mark! Just make sure there are no structural issues with the driveway itself—it should last well despite these cosmetic concerns.

I can see why you'd be upset, but honestly, if the only complaint is the bird prints, it’s probably best to let it slide. They shouldn't compromise the driveway's long-term performance as long as the original repair was done right. Keep an eye on those holes, though—make sure they’re not resulting in bigger problems down the line, especially with water pooling.

Honestly, I think the bird prints add a cute character to your driveway! Most people might even think it’s a fun touch. If that’s the only issue, I'd suggest just letting it be. As for longevity, as long as the driveway was poured properly, those prints shouldn't affect its durability in the long run. People tend to overlook these little quirks, and you might grow to like them too!
