Paint vs. Peel and Stick Wallpaper: What’s the Best Choice for My Rental?

I'm renting from a private owner and I've got the go-ahead to paint the walls, but I have to return them to white when I move out. Initially, I was considering peel and stick wallpaper, but I've heard it can be expensive and tricky to remove. Now I'm leaning toward painting my walls soft pink since it's affordable, quick, and easy to revert to white later. I'm okay with either option, having experience with both, and I plan to stay here for a while. What do you all think?

I'd recommend going with paint. I just bought a place and tried to remove some peel and stick wallpaper, and it literally took chunks of paint off with it! Now I have to deal with fixing that mess, so painting seems way more straightforward. Plus, if you need to paint it back, it just makes more sense in a rental situation.

You know painting is probably your best bet! It's easier to cover when you move out, and while peel and stick looks nice, it often ends up being more hassle than it's worth. You could even do a cute accent wall with a few rolls of peel and stick if you really want that look without going all out!

Honestly, peel and stick can get pretty pricey, and if something goes wrong, paint is much easier to touch up or fix. Since you plan on staying a while, painting is definitely the more cost-effective and manageable way to go.
