I've got the landlord's approval to make some changes, and I'm considering replacing the wood floors in my kitchen and bathroom with tiles. I've come across a lot of mixed reviews about peel and stick tiles. Some people think they're a nightmare, worrying about sticky residue and mold, while others have had good experiences without any issues. I'd love to hear more opinions on this!
I'm also looking into using rosin paper as an underlayment and then grouting between the tiles to help with moisture. Would this method work? What about the bathroom where there's more humidity? I've seen some mention using clear shower curtains or plastic sheets under the tiles—has anyone tried this? Any advice or criticism is welcome!

Honestly, peel and stick tiles aren’t the best option. If you can, I'd suggest luxury vinyl planks which you can find at places like Home Depot or Lowe's. They have a simple overlap edge that holds them in place without making a mess. Plus, they're 100% waterproof and come in great designs, way better than peel and stick. Just make sure to finish the edges with trim for a clean look!
