I discovered a water leak in my wall and I'm trying to figure out what might be causing it. I live in a 4-year-old house, so I'm not sure if I'm overthinking this, but something seems off. I'm also wondering if the tiny gaps I see should be re-caulked just to be safe. Here's a link to the images: https://imgur.com/a/4wIbjIO.

The flashing under your siding might be a potential culprit too. From what I see, it seems to slope back towards the house, which might not be ideal. Without knowing the full setup, it’s tough to pinpoint, but definitely something to consider!
Since you don’t have a basement, don’t overlook possible sources above the wall, like flashing, plumbing vent boots, or even windows. Those tiny gaps you mentioned could be a problem, but if you haven’t ruled out sources above yet, it might be worth checking them first. And if you haven't already, a moisture meter can really help track down where the water is coming from. It’s a handy tool to have!
I’m not sure what the pictures show, but I can relate to the frustration of leaks. I once had a small leak in a wall that turned out to be from missing flashing on the roof, quite a distance away. Water can move around more than you think before it shows up in your wall. So, keep that in mind!

How did you finally find that leak?
