Pressure Washing Job Left Moss Behind – What Should I Do?

I recently hired a landscaper for pressure washing my house at a quoted price of $850. They sent over a team that worked for about four hours, cleaning both the front and back. However, after they left, I noticed there's still a lot of moss near the front steps that wasn't removed. I reached out to the owner to discuss this, but he's busy with meetings and insists that if it wasn't removed, it's likely because it can't be removed with a power washer. I want to know if I'm being reasonable in expecting them to remove all the moss, and how I should proceed with payment considering the work wasn't completely done.

You should let him know you'll give him the check, but only after he takes the time to address the missed areas. It's best to keep it straightforward—ask him when he can come by to check the spots that still need work. If there are parts he can't clean, that's one thing; if he just missed them, he should handle it before payment.

It might be useful to take pictures of the areas that still have moss and send those to him. You could also post them here if you're looking for advice on how to fix it.

I’d just pay and move on. They probably didn't use a pre-cleaner, which would have helped a lot. But the more you engage now, the more you might regret it later.

Honestly, it sounds like he just wants the payment without doing the fix. I'd hold off on the check until he resolves the issue. If they're dodging the problem, just make it clear that you expect those areas to be fixed first.

That really sucks! If the moss is minor, you might just consider handling that yourself, unless you want to deal with the hassle. For $850, they should've cleaned everything properly—maybe even consider cutting ties with them after this.
